Re-opening for now...

Hi folks,

Most of you are probably already aware of this, but I happen to have another "part time job."  That is, I'm a reservist.  As part of that gig, I had orders to leave for Afghanistan this weekend.  But with current events being what they are, my orders got cancelled, which is a very good thing because my husband is due to rotate this summer... and while the intent was to stay in Hawaii, the lovely Navy found him a job in Virginia.  So we'll be moving to Hampton Roads this summer.

Meanwhile, we're prepping this house to be rented, trying to convince my tenants in Virginia Beach to leave, finding schools for the kids, and I'm looking for another job.  As you can imagine, it's a little crazy.

I had actually put the shop in "vacation mode," which is Etsy speak for closing temporarily, in preparation for my mobilization, however, I decided to reopen to see how much inventory we could get rid of before moving.  Unfortunately, I just don't have time for custom orders or special trips to the post office so for now I'm suspending my hand made sterling rings and international orders.  Hopefully the transition will be easy enough that once we've set up shop in Virginia, I'll be able to resume both services.

Anyway, thanks for your support and for bearing with the constant roller coaster that is my life!  ;)

Nice Girl Notes Cute Stuff Sale

Ok folks, I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but you do not want to miss this event.  What exactly is it?  Well I'm totally going to rip this off from Roo over at Nice Girl Notes, but she is the genius who came up with this concept in the first place, so here it is in her words:
what’s a Cute Stuff Sale? I bring together some awesome Etsy shops with NGN readers for a couple hours of chaos. Etsy shops offer their products at discounted prices. NGN readers get to buy really wonderful handmade things for super cheap. Etsy shops get famous. NGN readers get retail therapy. Seriously, it’s a marriage of beauty and wonder. And we have so much fun doing it. (Really, just peek in and watch the madness unfold.)
Now really, I know people don't really think of a FB page as a place to have fun, but I'm telling you, there is a lot of fun and interaction during these things.  Make sure you like her FB page, check it out during the sale hours, and click on "everyone" under the top row of photos so you can see what everyone else is saying/doing. You totally don't have to buy anything, just come and hang out.  Trust me, it's that much fun!

So on Saturday, 8-11pm EST (which makes it 2-5pm HST), be there or be square!  :)

Cool Etsy App: Etsync

You might have noticed the nifty little signature block on the bottom of my blog posts... The code is generated by a nifty little website called Etsync.com and it is so easy to use!  You can pick a couple different layouts that will either display your profile pic, shop banner, or a listing from your shop.  Plug in your shop name, click the size you want, and Voila!

How cool is that???

Don't forget- Homefront Team Sale today!

Don't forget to bop on over to the Homefront Team page on Facebook today from 2-5pm Hawaii time, 7-10pm Eastern Time for the Homefront Team sale!  I hear there are over 80 different items to be listed at some spectacular discounts!!!   The page admins will be posting photos to the team page so you have to "like" the page in order to see the items.  It's a whole bunch of fun, so don't miss out!

Changing the subject, here's the bracelet I made at Bead It! Kailua yesterday... took their intro to soldering class... the instructor was FABULOUS!  Very knowledgeable and clearly someone who enjoys what they do- create jewelry and teach others how to do the same...
